Comparison

A loyalty program knows your members. We know your guests.

Platforms like Punchh and Paytronix are built around enrollment: a guest joins, earns, and redeems. That model is powerful, and it has one structural limit worth understanding before you buy.

When a loyalty platform is the better answer

If your concept supports a genuine rewards economy — high frequency, lower average check, a habit worth reinforcing — a points program changes behaviour in ways an intelligence layer does not. Fast casual and coffee are the classic cases, and a dedicated loyalty platform will serve you better than we will.

If a meaningful share of your guests would actually enroll and engage with a program, that is a real asset and worth running properly.

The difference

Where the enrollment model runs out

Most guests never enroll

In full-service dining, enrollment rates are typically a small fraction of guests. Everyone who did not sign up is invisible to the program — including, very often, the quiet high-spender who has been coming for years and never wanted a card.

You already have the data

Every reservation, every check, every review is a signal you have collected already. Compliments OS uses that history directly, so a guest does not have to opt into anything to be recognized.

Recognition is not a discount

Fine dining and chef-driven rooms often do not want a points economy at all. Holding someone’s preferred table and remembering their anniversary is the reward. That is a different product than earn-and-burn.

They are not mutually exclusive

If you run a loyalty program, keep it. Its enrollment data is another source we can read. We are not asking you to switch — we are asking about the guests it cannot see.

Due diligence

Ask every vendor these

Including us. If an answer is vague, that is the answer.

  • What share of my guests will realistically enroll?
  • What can this tell me about the guests who never join?
  • Does recognizing a regular require them to have signed up for something?

Loyalty rewards the guests who raised their hand. We start from every guest who ever walked in.
